Distance BLIS

BLIS, provided by IGNOU, is a one or two-year distance learning Bachelor of Library and Information Science degree designed to improve library and information management abilities. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% for SC/ST/PH), or a Bachelor’s degree with a one-year certificate in Library Science or two years of library experience. The program consists of 36 credits divided into nine academic and practical courses: information sources and library management; basic and high-level information technology; and automated document issuance and registration processes. Even though the majority of the course is taught in English, students are permitted to submit work in Hindi. The entrance period runs from January to July, with a total price of around ₹8,700.
